Upper Sandusky gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They had just enough and edged the Bellevue Redmen out 4-3. This was payback for Upper Sandusky, who suffered a 7-5 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Aleah McCann spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits.
At the plate, Erin Merriman was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and a triple. Addie Hoffbauer was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Upper Sandusky will head out on the road to face off against Kenton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bellevue, they will be playing at home against Van Buren at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
