Baseball Game Preview: Grove City Christian Eagles vs. Berne Union Rockets

The Grove City Christian Eagles will take on the Berne Union Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Grove City Christian's victory against Bishop Rosecrans wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Bishops 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bishops: they've now won four in a row.

Grove City Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grayson Keating, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Fairfield Christian Academy typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Berne Union proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Knights by a score of 6-3. The game was the first time the Rockets have beaten the Knights on their field since April 25, 2023.

The victory made it two in a row for Berne Union and bumps their season record up to 11-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Grove City Christian, the victory got them back to even at 7-7-1.

Grove City Christian skirted past Berne Union 2-1 when the teams last played back in April. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Rockets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
