Softball Preview: Red Bank Catholic Caseys vs. Mount St. Dominic Academy Lions        
        
		
            Red Bank Catholic hasn't had much luck against Mount St. Dominic Academy recently, but that could start to change  on Sunday. The Caseys will take on the Lions at 4:00  p.m. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (Red Bank Catholic 2.7, Mount St. Dominic Academy 3.3) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
Red Bank Catholic was handed a heart-breaking two-run  defeat in their last  match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Raritan  on Saturday. The Caseys were the clear victors by  a  13-2 margin over the Rockets. Considering the Caseys have won nine contests by more than five  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.

 Grace Lombardi was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  RBI. Those  three  stolen bases gave  her a new career-high.  Nicole Knox was another key player,  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
 Red Bank Catholic  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Raritan only posted  an  OBP of  .318.
 Meanwhile, Mount St. Dominic Academy entered their tilt with Governor Livingston on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single  run of losing the streak, but they secured  a   3-2 W against the Highlanders.
 Red Bank Catholic's win was  their eighth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 13-3. Those  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Mount St. Dominic Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
 Red Bank Catholic couldn't quite get it done against Mount St. Dominic Academy in their previous meeting  back in May of 2024 as they fell  3-0. Can the Caseys avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
