Clairemont has gone 8-2 against University City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Chieftains will welcome the Centurions at 4:00 p.m. Clairemont is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
Clairemont will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Madison on Thursday. The Chieftains put the hurt on the Warhawks with a sharp 24-3 victory. The Chieftains haven't had any issues with the Warhawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Clairemont got a massive performance out of Lucy Brickner, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those five hits gave Brickner a new career-high. Camryn Walton was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.
Clairemont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .804. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, University City was able to grind out a solid victory over Foothills Christian on Monday, taking the game 6-1.
Riley Conklin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ingrid Peters, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Castillo, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.
Clairemont's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for University City, their victory bumped their record up to 9-15-1.
University City's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Clairemont hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .374. It's a different story for University City, though, as they've only averaged .250. Will they be able to contain Clairemont's hitters?
Clairemont took their win against University City in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 15-1 score. Will the Chieftains repeat their success, or do the Centurions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
