Football Recap: Speedway Takes a Loss

Speedway extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They lost 27-6 to the Monrovia Bulldogs. The Sparkplugs were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Logan Moore threw for 92 yards on nine of 21 attempts. Nai Ma Har was his top target, picking up 30 receiving yards. On the ground, Mamadou Diallo rushed for 96 yards and one touchdown.

As for Monrovia, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.5 points on average over those games.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Ryder Bain and Coewen Stinson. Bain rushed for 144 yards and a pair of TDs while Stinson rushed for 94 yards on only 12 carries. Bain didn't just play on offense: he also made three total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended one pass.

Speedway didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-13 defeat against Beech Grove on the 3rd. As for Monrovia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 42-6 loss against Tri-West Hendricks on the 3rd.
