Basketball Game Preview: Trotwood-Madison Rams vs. Greenville Green Wave

Trotwood-Madison is 9-1 against Greenville since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Trotwood-Madison Rams will square off against the Greenville Green Wave at 7:30 p.m. Trotwood-Madison knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 22 games -- so hopefully Greenville likes a good challenge.

Trotwood-Madison is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Ohio's top teams: Aiken, who was ranked ninth at the time (Trotwood-Madison was ranked 24th). Trotwood-Madison skirted past Aiken 78-76. The score was all tied up 36-36 at the break, but the Rams were the better team in the second half.

Trotwood-Madison's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jermiel Atkins, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Atkins is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in each of the last six games he's played. Darius Dennis was another key player, going 8-for-12 to rack up 19 points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Greenville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 72-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sidney. While the Green Wave didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Yellowjackets 19-11 in the first quarter.

Trotwood-Madison's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.3 points over those games. As for Greenville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-20.

Everything came up roses for Trotwood-Madison against Greenville when the teams last played back in February of 2019, as the squad secured an 83-38 win. Does Trotwood-Madison have another victory up their sleeve, or will Greenville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
