Recap: King Wolves vs. Arlington Lions
The King Wolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 69-58 to Arlington. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, King still got an impressive performance from Mathias Tinker, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. Tinker hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Jeremiah Davis was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
It was another big night for Lincoln Liggins, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 14 rebounds for Arlington. Liggins has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Wheeler, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
King has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Arlington, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-9.
King and Rancho Verde will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Rancho Verde knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully King likes a good challenge. As for Arlington, they will head out on the road to take on La Sierra at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. La Sierra will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 850th, while Arlington is ranked 218th).
