Adelana Rodriguez (2026) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Kaylee Kopp (2027) and Marley Escareno (2028) did most of the damage at the plate: Kopp (2027) went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Escareno (2028) earned three runs and three stolen bases. Those three runs gave Escareno (2028) a new career-high. Ella Stennett (2025) also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Lompoc waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 5-1.
Lompoc also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Alex Brooks gave up a run (which was unearned) on six hits.
On the hitting side, Rianna Stouppe was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Arroyo Grande's record is now 9-17. As for Lompoc, their record now sits at 16-10.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Arroyo Grande hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Lompoc struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Arroyo Grande's way against Lompoc in their previous meeting back in April, as Arroyo Grande made off with a 7-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
