White River put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with an 83-74 win over the Decatur Golden Gators. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Golden Gators are ranked 255th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Decatur still got an impressive performance from Jorge Martinez, who went 8 of 16 en route to 27 points along with eight boards and four steals. Martinez is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahrion Modica, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.

White River's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Decatur, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

White River wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 74-51 win against Kent-Meridian on the 19th. As for Decatur, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 85-59 loss against Auburn Mountainview on the 19th.
