Softball Game Preview: Don Lugo Conquistadores vs. Bellflower Buccaneers

The Don Lugo Conquistadores will take on the Bellflower Buccaneers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Don Lugo will be strutting in after a win while Bellflower will be coming in after a defeat.

Don Lugo is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Western a 15-0 shutout.

Jade Curiel made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Curiel was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

In other pitching news, Hayden Pitsenberger looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Ariel Delgado was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Leylah Ramirez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base.

Meanwhile, Bellflower had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 16-6 to Artesia on Thursday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.
