Mt. Diablo hasn't had much luck against Berean Christian recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Red Devils will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Mt. Diablo turned things around against Ygnacio Valley on Friday. They blew past the Wolves 14-6. The Red Devils not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 2nd (when they won 11-1).

Sophie Ramos made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 16 over six innings pitched. Those 16 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Ramos wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dazzelynn Alon, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. What's more, Alon posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March. Leilah Anderson also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Berean Christian had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 16-5 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Leila Rhoads was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of LeAna Cimarra, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Berean Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Concord only managed five hits.
Berean Christian pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Mt. Diablo, their record is now 4-15.
Mt. Diablo might still be hurting after the 19-5 loss they got from Berean Christian in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
