Soccer Recap: Niles Takes a Loss

If Niles was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Bronson on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings came up short against the Plainwell Trojans on Monday, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Niles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 280th, while Plainwell are ranked 49th).

Niles has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8-2 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those four games. As for Plainwell, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3.
