Basketball Recap: Miami Comes Up Short

Miami was the 44-41 winner over Vinita when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Miami Wardogs took a 49-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vinita Hornets on Friday. The Wardogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Miami still got an impressive performance from Waike Roblyer, who made all 10 shots he took to post 23 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Roblyer is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last seven games he's played. Colton Oelke was another key player, putting up eight points.

Miami's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Vinita, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.

Miami wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-52 defeat against Fairland on the 8th. As for Vinita, they will challenge Verdigris at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
