Basketball Recap: Miramonte Comes Up Short

Miramonte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 73-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the College Park Falcons. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (62), the Matadors still had to take the loss.

College Park's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Miles Cooper, who posted 29 points. That's the most points Cooper has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mathys Joseph, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Miramonte's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for College Park, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Miramonte will venture away from home to square off against Mt. Diablo at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Miramonte is facing Mt. Diablo at the right time seeing as Mt. Diablo is stuck on an 18-game losing streak. As for College Park, they are taking a road trip to take on Alhambra at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. College Park is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.2 points per game this season.
