Basketball Recap: Isabell Berhe Key Part of a Team Effort in Kings Win

Victory Christian Center won the last time they faced Charlotte Country Day School and things went their way on Friday too. The Victory Christian Center Kings walked away with a 53-46 win over the Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Kings.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Victory Christian Center to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isabell Berhe, who shot 5-for-6 from deep and almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Berhe a new career-high in steals (six). Sofia Ponce was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Charlotte Country Day School lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Margaret Blythe, who posted 21 points. With that strong performance, Blythe is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Cj Starnes, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.

Victory Christian Center pushed their record up to 3-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Charlotte Country Day School, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-2.
