Baseball Recap: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. Niwot Cougars        
        
		
            
 Roosevelt was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They took  a  10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Niwot Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Roosevelt of the  16-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in April of 2023.
  Seppe Salvatore made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kayden Bryant, who  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI and a  double.
 Even though they lost, Roosevelt  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with nine  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Niwot only tossed three.
 On Niwot's side,  Brock Rothstein and  Kaige Kennedy made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound,  Rothstein   tossed five innings while giving up just two earned  (and three unearned) runs off   five  hits. Meanwhile,  Kennedy   tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned run or  hits. At the plate,  Rothstein  scored three  runs while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances, while  Kennedy  went 3-for-5 with a  stolen base and  an  RBI.
 They weren't the only ones making solid contact as  three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Henry Noblin, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Niwot,  the  win  made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 4-1.
 While Roosevelt had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
