Volleyball Recap: West Mesa Mustangs vs. Albuquerque Bulldogs
West Mesa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Albuquerque Bulldogs, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-11, 25-9.
Kianna Joe paced West Mesa's offense, picking up four kills. Joe got some help from Isabella Garcia and her ten assists. Finally, Delilah Stidham kept West Mesa's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.
West Mesa's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Albuquerque, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.
Coincidentally, West Mesa and Albuquerque will both be playing Atrisco Heritage Academy the next time they take the court. The Mustangs will host the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Bulldogs will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
