Football Game Preview: Lockport Porters vs. Homewood-Flossmoor Vikings + Official Tickets

Lockport hasn't had much luck against Homewood-Flossmoor recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Porters will challenge the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lockport comes in on six and Homewood-Flossmoor on three.

Lockport is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top against Sandburg by a score of 21-14.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Homewood-Flossmoor). They took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging a 56-8 victory over Curie. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Vikings' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Condors are ranked 290th).

Homewood-Flossmoor's win came from a few key players Lockport will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kourtney Smith, who rushed for 83 yards and two scores on only six carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Koprowski, who threw for 121 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes.

Homewood-Flossmoor's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Lockport, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Lockport lost to Homewood-Flossmoor on the road by a decisive 28-13 margin when the teams last played back in September. Can the Porters avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
