Sierra Vista moved up to 646 from 686 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Montview. The Dons climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Azusa 37-6.
La Puente extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Workman, 30-20. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Warriors.
Gladstone's dynamic duo of Kevin Amezquita and Vincent Gomez proved tough for Ganesha to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Amezquita threw for 189 yards and four touchdowns and Gomez had 106 yards receiving. Christian Arteaga helped Gladstone's passing attack out by catching three balls for 47 yards.
Lee Jones was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 24 carries, he ran for 265 yards as Sierra Vista beat the Giants. Teammate Sergio Gonzales added to the ground attack by rushing for 45 yards.
5-foot-9 quarterback Jose Ledesma of the Aztecs is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1529. He has also thrown 10 touchdowns. On the ground, Don LeGro's team's Jones has rushed for 1907 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jamal Greenfield. The Bassett star has 37 catches for 597 yards.
Gladstone took down Ganesha 48-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Amezquita ran for 51 yards in the win.
