The Freedom Patriots will take on the Patton Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Freedom is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Freedom took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top against North Iredell by a score of 12-7.

Englani Campbell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs.
In other batting news, Kaylee Skinner was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhiley Buchanan, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI.
Freedom lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Patton's offense. They came up short against West Caldwell on Thursday, falling 11-0. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Patton now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Freedom, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Freedom hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Patton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Freedom beat Patton 7-4 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will Freedom repeat their success, or does Patton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
