Softball Recap: Lakeside Christian Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

While Lakeside Christian put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Saint Stephen's Episcopal. The Lions put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 12-0 victory. Considering the Lions have won seven matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Jamisen Rheintgen, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Saint Stephen's Episcopal off the board.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Christine Trofemuk, who fired off three triples, three RBI, and one stolen base while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaci Morris, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Lakeside Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Saint Stephen's Episcopal only posted an OBP of .190.

Lakeside Christian pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Saint Stephen's Episcopal, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Coming up, Lakeside Christian will be playing at home against Seven Rivers Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Saint Stephen's Episcopal, they will venture away from home to square off against Sarasota Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blazers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.71 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
