Coeur d'Alene barely beat Sandpoint the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Coeur d'Alene was the clear victor by a 13-6 margin over Sandpoint on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won three games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Gavin Helms was a standout: he scored two runs while going 3-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kolbe Coey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Coeur d'Alene was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sandpoint only posted a batting average of .222.

The victory made it two in a row for Coeur d'Alene and bumps their season record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Sandpoint, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coeur d'Alene will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Post Falls at 3:00 p.m. on April 8. Sandpoint will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Lake City at 2:00 p.m. on April 8. The last five games Lake City has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
