Basketball Recap: West Branch Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for West Branch, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against the Bucktail Bucks by a score of 56-43 on Monday. The Warriors pushed the score to 52-29 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bucks cut but never quite recovered from.

West Branch had a senior duo take command as Dylan McGonigal dropped a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds and Easton Emigh dropped a double-double with 13 points and 16 boards. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for McGonigal. Kaleb Kio also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

West Branch was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

West Branch's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Bucktail, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

West Branch and Williamsburg will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Bucktail will take on Northern Potter in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
