Football Recap: Sunset Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Molina last Saturday, Sunset came back down to earth. The Bison were outmatched by the North Mesquite Stallions and fell 50-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bison of the 49-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Sunset still got an impressive performance from Dafne Briones, who threw for 207 yards and one touchdown on only 19 passes.

Leading North Mesquite to victory were Julien Simpson and Terrance Collins. Simpson rushed for 89 yards and four scores, while Collins rushed for 143 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries. With that strong performance, Collins is now averaging an impressive 104.9 rushing yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Keon Burke, who rushed for 93 yards on only five carries.

Sunset has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for North Mesquite, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-5 record.
