Basketball Game Preview: Gordonsville Tigers vs. Whitwell Tigers

Gordonsville is on a five-game streak of home losses, Whitwell a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Friday. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 95-44, which was the final score in Gordonsville's tilt against Pickett County on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while the Bobcats are ranked 30th).

Meanwhile, Whitwell didn't have quite enough to beat Hixson on Tuesday and fell 42-40.

Whitwell's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Gordonsville, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Gordonsville didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Whitwell in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 37-32 win. Will Gordonsville repeat their success, or does Whitwell have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
