Basketball Recap: Sadie Auch Key Part of a Team Effort in Falcons Win

After losing to Lightridge the last time they met, Briar Woods decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Briar Woods Falcons came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lightridge Bolts on Monday, sneaking past 48-45.

Briar Woods got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sadie Auch out in front who went 5 for 10 on her way to 16 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Auch a new career-high in points. Nina Keltz was another key player, going 5 of 11 to rack up 13 points.

Briar Woods' victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Lightridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-6.

Coming up, Briar Woods will challenge Independence at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lightridge, they will square off against Potomac Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
