Basketball Recap: Plant Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Plant can now relate to. They lost to the Palm Harbor University Hurricanes on the road by a 54-39 margin on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hurricanes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-35 back in December of 2025.

Plant's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samantha Rice, who posted seven points. Niamaya Fraser was another key player, putting up five points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Plant's loss dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Palm Harbor University, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Plant does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Palm Harbor University, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-50 defeat against Sumner on the 6th.
