Soccer Game Preview: Sunrise Mountain vs. Canyon Springs

Sunrise Mountain hasn't had much luck against Canyon Springs recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Miners will head out to square off against the Pioneers at 5:45 p.m. Sunrise Mountain has given up an average of 3 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sunrise Mountain fell victim to Foothill and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Falcons, falling 6-0.

Meanwhile, Canyon Springs entered their tilt with Desert Oasis on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Diamondbacks.

Daniela Mayorga and Marisa Davila scored both of Canyon Springs' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 57 goals.

Canyon Springs' win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Sunrise Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-1.

Sunrise Mountain suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Canyon Springs when the teams last played back in August. Can the Miners avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
