Softball Recap: Lewisburg Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

It's playoff time, and Lewisburg had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Hernando Tigers 10-8. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Tigers back in April, they had to take a 8-0 loss.

The team relied heavily on Anna Etter, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Mikayla Johnson also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Lewisburg lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Lewisburg's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-13. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Hernando, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 29-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Tigers beat Lewisburg by a score of 7-1 on Friday.
