Basketball Recap: Oakleaf Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Oakleaf lost against Fleming Island last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The match between the Oakleaf Knights and the Fleming Island Golden Eagles didn't end well, with the Oakleaf Knights falling 84-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (63), the Knights still had to take the loss.

Fleming Island found their leader in sophomore Carson Crawford, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Nate Lowery, who went 5 of 7 en route to 14 points.

Oakleaf's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5. As for Fleming Island, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Oakleaf and Fleming Island should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Oakleaf will face off against Bradford at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday up 156 places (80 vs. 236). Oakleaf will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Meanwhile, Fleming Island (ranked 59th) will meet Mainland (ranked 212th) at 12:30 p.m. on Monday.
