Basketball Recap: South River Takes a Loss

South River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Highland Park Owls, falling 84-14. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 393rd, while the Owls are ranked 175th).

South River's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Highland Park, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

South River will square off against Carteret at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Highland Park has already played their next contest (against Timothy Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
