Volleyball Recap: Steele Canyon Comes Up Short

Steele Canyon lost against Del Norte back in August of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cougars took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Nighthawks. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Their offense was headlined by Taylor Carpenter and Crisa Garcia, who picked up six kills apiece. They were helped by Chloe Stock and Maddison Barefield, who contributed four assists each. Garcia was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Steele Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Del Norte, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-11-2.

Steele Canyon has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Mira Mesa on the 10th. As for Del Norte, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Redlands on the 10th.
