Washington won the last time they faced Mt. Vernon and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Hatchets walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Wildcats. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Washington's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Mt. Vernon are ranked 286th).

Blake Boyd and Keaton Charles scored all three of Washington's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

The win made it two in a row for Washington and bumps their season record up to 10-5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those two contests. As for Mt. Vernon, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Looking ahead, Washington will face off against Princeton at 8:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mt. Vernon, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 1-1 defeat against North Posey on the 2nd.
