Volleyball Recap: Bloomington Purple Raiders vs. Lincoln Railsplitters
Bloomington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lincoln Railsplitters. The Purple Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Railsplitters apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played two weeks ago.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-15.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lincoln to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Behrends, who had seven kills, five aces, three digs, and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Sasse, who had 11 kills, eight digs, and two blocks.
Bloomington's loss dropped their record down to 8-22. As for Lincoln, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-13.
Bloomington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lincoln, their road trip will continue as they head out to face Mater Dei at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
