Basketball Recap: Gaither Finds Playoff Glory Versus Armwood

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Gaither walked away with it. They strolled past the Armwood Hawks with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 63-49. This was a revenge game for the Cowboys: when they faced off against the Hawks last Tuesday, they had to take a 64-58 loss.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gaither to victory, but perhaps none more so than Asiah Perry, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Josiah Manrow, who earned 14 points.

Gaither pushed their record up to 15-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Armwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-10.

Gaither will be playing in front of their home fans against Leto at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gaither knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Leto likes a good challenge. Armwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
