Softball Recap: Simi Valley Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Simi Valley got themselves on the board against Torrance on Saturday, but Torrance never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Torrance Tartars with a sharp 7-0 win. Considering the Pioneers have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Francesca Hall, who gave up just two hits to keep Torrance off the board. Hall has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Aurora Zepeda was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Abrams, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Simi Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-1-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. Torrance dropped their record down to 6-4 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Simi Valley will head out on the road to take on Oaks Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Simi Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Oaks Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Torrance will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mira Costa at 6:00 p.m. on March 26th.
