Basketball Recap: Groveton Comes Up Short

Groveton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 65-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Centerville Tigers. Even if the Indians couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Groveton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Centerville, the win snapped their losing streak at nine games and leaves them with a 2-12 record.

Groveton and Centerville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Groveton (ranked 1039th) will meet Leon (ranked 504th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Centerville (ranked 1409th) will meet Grapeland (ranked 690th) at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
