Football Recap: Emery/Weiner Skates Past Northland Christian with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chester, Emery/Weiner was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 56-8 victory over the Northland Christian Cougars.

Emery/Weiner's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nathan Valk, who rushed for 58 yards and a pair of scores. What's more, Valk posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Another receiver making a difference was Andres Schiller-Ordonez, who picked up 66 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Emery/Weiner's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 12 times. The heavy lifting was done by Schiller-Ordonez and Kiran Rao, who racked up 11 sacks between them. Emery/Weiner received some extra help from Blake Saikin, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Emery/Weiner now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Northland Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Emery/Weiner will take on Divine Savior Academy - Sienna at 6:30 p.m. on the 27th. As for Northland Christian, they will face off against Burkeville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
