Basketball Game Preview: South Stokes Sauras vs. Rockingham County Cougars

The South Stokes Sauras and the Rockingham County Cougars will face off at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest, having both just played. South Stokes has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 189 points over their last three games.

While South Stokes' win against McMichael wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Sauras had just enough and edged out the Phoenix 57-55. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Sauras have posted since February 4th.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 68 points the game before, Rockingham County was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 65-23 loss at the hands of Asheboro. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cougars have suffered since January 27th.

Rockingham County's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2. Those road losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.4 points over those games. As for South Stokes, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

South Stokes didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Rockingham County when the teams last played back in November of 2015, but they still walked away with a 70-65 victory.
