Gertz-Ressler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Elizabeth Bulldogs 74-33. One positive for the Pumas, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the loss, Gertz-Ressler had strong showings from Kenneth Diaz, who posted 15 points and six boards, and Leonardo Nunez, who had eight points and six rebounds.

Gertz-Ressler's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Elizabeth, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.

Gertz-Ressler will take on Locke in a holiday battle at 12:00 p.m. on Monday at. As for Elizabeth, they will square off against Garey at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Garey knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Elizabeth likes a good challenge.
