Basketball Recap: Upper Perkiomen Takes a Loss

Upper Perkiomen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-38 heartbreaker at the hands of the Boyertown Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 63-47 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Boyertown was led to victory by Trey Kern and Joey Schreiner. Kern almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards, while Schreiner posted 14 points and three steals. The matchup was Kern's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Keeshawn Copeland also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Upper Perkiomen's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Boyertown, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-12.

Upper Perkiomen has already played their next contest (against Phoenixville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Boyertown will take on Norristown at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Norristown has lost seven straight at home , while Boyertown has lost seven on the road.
