Baseball Game Preview: Northmont Thunderbolts vs. Tippecanoe Red Devils

The Northmont Thunderbolts will head out on the road to challenge the Tippecanoe Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Tippecanoe will be up against a hot Northmont squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Thunderbolts came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Miamisburg.

Meanwhile, Tippecanoe posted their closest victory since April 23rd on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Wayne 5-4. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Tippecanoe's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Eli Kettel, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Those two hits gave Kettel a new career-high.

Tippecanoe's win bumped their record up to 20-3. As for Northmont, the victory got them back to even at 11-11-1.

Northmont came out on top in a nail-biter against Tippecanoe when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunderbolts since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
