Baseball Game Preview: Burnet Bulldogs vs. Taylor Ducks

Burnet hasn't had much luck against Taylor recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs are taking a road trip to square off against the Ducks at 6:00 p.m.

On Friday, Burnet didn't have quite enough to beat Lampasas and fell 3-2.

Burnet saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Watson, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Taylor came into Friday's game having lost ten straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over Jarrell on Friday. That looming 9-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Ducks yet this season.

Burnet's loss dropped their record down to 6-14-1. As for Taylor, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-13.

Burnet was able to grind out a solid victory over Taylor in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, winning 5-2. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Ducks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
