Softball Recap: Streetsboro Victorious

Streetsboro hadn't done well against Field recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Rockets had just enough and edged out the Falcons 7-6. While the Rockets didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The team relied heavily on Khloe Cutright, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Knepper, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Streetsboro's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Field, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2.

Streetsboro didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 16-0 win against Bedford on the 17th. As for Field, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 5-3 victory against Twinsburg on the 17th.
