Soccer Game Preview: Astoria vs. Tillamook

Astoria is 8-1-1 against Tillamook since October of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Fishermen will challenge the Cheesemakers at 7:00 p.m. Astoria's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Astoria's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over Rainier.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Tillamook, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They beat St. Helens by a goal, winning 1-0. The win was a breath of fresh air for Tillamook as it put an end to their four-match losing streak.

Tillamook's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4-1 and their overall record up to 2-6-2. As for Astoria, their win bumped their record up to 2-6-4.

Astoria was able to grind out a solid victory over Tillamook when the teams last played back in September, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Fishermen since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
