Baseball Game Preview: Millennium Tigers vs. Brophy College Prep Broncos

The Millennium Tigers will head out to square off against the Brophy College Prep Broncos at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

Millennium is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Corona del Sol, who was ranked first at the time (Millennium was ranked 18th). The Tigers came up short against the Aztecs on Thursday, falling 8-1.

Millennium got a good showing from Noah Smith, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest earned runs Smith has allowed since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Millennium saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preston Armstrong, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Brophy College Prep not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 11th. They blew past Desert Vista 8-1. The victory continues a trend for the Broncos in their matchups with the Thunder: they've now won seven in a row.

The win got Brophy College Prep back to even at 8-8. As for Millennium, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 14-6.

Millennium couldn't quite finish off Brophy College Prep in their previous matchup back in March of 2018 and fell 6-4. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
