Volleyball Recap: Lackawanna Trail Lions vs. Western Wayne Wildcats
It was a proper cat-fight when Lackawanna Trail faced off against Western Wayne on Saturday. The Lions took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Wyatt Laytos paced Lackawanna Trail's offense, picking up five kills. Laytos got some help from Rylee Laubach and his 13 assists.
This is the second loss in a row for Lackawanna Trail and nudges their season record down to 1-10. As for Western Wayne, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Lackawanna Trail wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Wilkes-Barre on the 12th. As for Western Wayne, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Wyoming Valley West on the 12th.
