Volleyball Recap: Upper Scioto Valley Takes a Loss

Upper Scioto Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-15, 25-13.

Layla Hunsicker paced Upper Scioto Valley's offense, picking up five kills. Hunsicker got some help from Audrey Lawrence and her six assists. Ivie Gonzalez controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Upper Scioto Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Waynesfield-Goshen, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-8 record this season.

Upper Scioto Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Perry on the 11th. As for Waynesfield-Goshen, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Hardin Northern on the 11th.
