Volleyball Game Preview: Hamilton Southeastern Royals vs. Zionsville Eagles

Hamilton Southeastern is a perfect 10-0 against Zionsville since October of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.

Zionsville will be up against a hot Hamilton Southeastern squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Royals' way against Franklin Central on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Mia Walpole was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had eight digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last ten contests.

Avon came into Thursday's match looking for another win against Zionsville, but Averie Leblanc wouldn't allow it. The Eagles blew past the Orioles 3-0 on Thursday thanks in part to Leblanc, who had three digs and one block. Leblanc is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 17 every time she's taken the court this season.

Zionsville was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-21, 25-19.

Hamilton Southeastern's win bumped their record up to 28-3. As for Zionsville, their victory bumped their record up to 19-11.

Hamilton Southeastern was able to grind out a solid win over Zionsville in their previous matchup back in September, winning 3-1. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Eagles' Abby Swan, who had 33 digs and one assist. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Royals still be able to contain Swan? There's only one way to find out.
