Basketball Game Preview: North Paulding Wolfpack vs. Paulding County Patriots

North Paulding and Paulding County are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2016, but not for long. The two teams will round out the year against one another at at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. North Paulding will be strutting in after a win while Paulding County will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row, North Paulding turned things around against East Paulding on Thursday. They came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 62-49.

Meanwhile, Paulding County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 90-75 to McEachern. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Indians are ranked fourth).

North Paulding will have to contain Jerron Wilson as he made an impact in Paulding County's last game. He went 11 of 18 on his way to 36 points and five rebounds. Wilson is becoming a predictor of Paulding County's success: when he posts at least 25 points the team is 6-3 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastien Okullo, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards.

Paulding County's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for North Paulding, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8.

North Paulding was taken down by Paulding County 66-35 in their previous matchup back in December of 2021. Can North Paulding avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
